Hero For Startups (HFS) is a pioneering initiative by Hero MotoCorp, an accelerator program designed to engage with and empower the startup ecosystem in India. Through this program, Hero, in collaboration with T-Hub, seeks to collaborate with startups to co-create innovative solutions that address critical challenges in the mobility sector. 

By fostering an environment of collaboration, Hero aims to accelerate the growth of startups, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and support necessary to scale their solutions and contribute meaningfully to the future of mobility.

Eligibility Criteria

Stage of Development

Startups must have a working prototype or a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Market Readiness

The startup should demonstrate market readiness with some level of market validation, such as initial traction, pilot programs, or early users.

Team Composition

The startup should have a dedicated, full-time team with at least two co-founders or core team members. The team should have a clear vision and complementary skill sets relevant to the startup’s mission.

Business Registration

The startup must be a registered business entity in its country of operation. Preference will be given to startups registered in India or those with a significant market presence in India.

Program Timelines

The Hero For Startups program is designed to run over 10-12 months, with the following key phases:

Call for Applications and Evaluation

 The application will be opened on August 23rd at

the program launch event, followed by a rigorous evaluation and selection process.

Onboarding

 Startups will be onboarded into the program and introduced to Hero’s

resources, facilities, and leadership.

Bootcamps

 Startups will participate in three distinct bootcamp tracks focusing on

technology readiness, capacity and capability building, and developing a sustainability

Roadmap.

PoC Development

Startups will work on developing their PoCs with continuous support

and guidance from Hero’s technical teams and leadership.

Evaluation & Scaling

Successful PoCs will be evaluated for integration into Hero’s

product line and/or business and operational processes, with the potential for

large-scale deployment.

Final Showcase

The program will culminate in a final showcase where startups present

their solutions, celebrate their successes and discuss potential next steps with Hero

MotoCorp

FAQs

A spark plug is one of the essential components in the ignition system. The electrodes of the spark plug wear out due to repeated discharge of high voltage and corrosive oxidization due to combustion, causing the plug gap to gradually increase.
The Air Filter, filters the particles and dust in the intake air to protect the engine parts. It generally gets clogged over a period of time due to particles and dust over prolonged usage. Hero MotoCorp vehicles basically have three different types of air filter, they are, Polyurethane wet type, Dry Paper and Viscous Paper type.
A Fuel Tube is a joint through which continuous flow of fuel takes place from the fuel tank to carburetor. Generally 4 year is the average replacement time recommended for a fuel tube. In exceptional cases like unattended vehicle for over 6 months or more, fuel Hose need to be replaced. A continuous flow of fuel deteriorates fuel tube due to high volatility of petrol internally and it starts leaking from fuel tube joints indicated by fuel smell.

Selected startups receive mentorship, access to Hero MotoCorp’s resources, networking opportunities, and the chance to develop POCs with possible future integration or partnership opportunities.

Each cohort runs for approximately 10 months, with POC development phases ranging from 1 to 12 months depending on the startup's stage and project scope.

Trend – More than One Route to Sustainability Although the near future is still inclined towards EV’s, other technologies and energy sources/ carriers are being proved in different markets. As a part of our long term vision to explore alternate gaseous fuels, R&D wants to explore viable alternatives (like Hythane, H2 Fuel Cells) for 2w application
 

Design and Training: AR/VR technologies provide advanced solutions for vehicle design evaluation with customers, training, and showroom experiences, addressing key challenges like logistical costs, unstructured training, and limited vehicle availability. By leveraging features such as eye-tracking and immersive simulations, these solutions enhance customer engagement, streamline training, and improve design validation, making them particularly impactful in Tier 2 and 3 cities.

Product Design Validation: Leverage AR/VR for virtual design reviews to minimize logistical costs and new Product Design Validation with Customers through AR/VR.

Simulation Experience for Training Centers: Develop AR/VR-based two-wheeler training systems to standardize learning processes.

Automated quality control systems inspect components at critical points in the supply chain—spanning plants, warehouses, and dealerships—to minimize fit-and-finish defects. Vision cameras integrated at the final inspection stage capture images and videos, which are analyzed through trained models to detect gaps, dents, paint peel-offs, loose fitments, and other quality issues.
