T-Hub, India’s leading startup incubator, hosted a distinguished delegation from the United States Food & Drug Administration (US FDA). The visit was centered around exploring the vibrant innovation ecosystem of Telangana, with a particular focus on three key themes: MedTech, Healthcare, and Innovation. This momentous occasion showcased the dynamic growth of Telangana in the Life Sciences & Pharma sector, particularly in Medical Devices and Digital Health.
The visit witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including- Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industry & Commerce, ITE&C; Jennifer Larson, Consul General, USA; Dr. Robert Califf, Commissioner, FDA; Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT), Govt. of Telangana; Mahankali Srinivas Rao (MSR), Chief Executive Officer, T-Hub; Sujit Jagirdar, Chief Innovation Officer,T-Hub; Anish Anthony, Chief Delivery Officer, T-Hub.
During their visit, the US FDA team learned about the innovative landscape of Telangana’s healthcare ecosystem. They engaged with local stakeholders, startups, and government officials, gaining invaluable insights into the region’s potential and remarkable contributions to the industry.
Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industry & Commerce; and Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, remarked, “It is a matter of pride that Telangana hosts the largest number of FDA approved facilities for any region globally and the visit of commissioner re-emphasizes the prominence of Telangana in the global stage. Further, this visit also underscores the remarkable progress achieved by Telangana and T-Hub in the realm of medical devices and health tech innovation. With Telangana’s pharma and life sciences ecosystem projected to reach $250 billion by 2030, the event served as a pivotal platform for exchanging knowledge, fostering collaboration, and exploring transformative opportunities that will shape the future of global healthcare technology.
